able to control the Crane-Load, Slinger, Banksman and deliver loads to a given

Objectives Pre-operational
checks Main Isolator Switch. Warning Lights. Electrical Supply
Cables. Tracks. Hoist Rope(s) Hoist Motor & Drum. Cross Travel Motor &
Drive Shaft. Long Travel Motor(s). Hook & Block. All Controllers Crane Motions.
Hoist Limit Switch. Travel Limit Switches (if fitted). Fire Extinguisher. Emergency
Escape Rope or Ladder. Audible Warning Device. Cab free of debris. Test Certificate.
Task
1 - Carry out site safety checks. Other site
personnel & vehicles Ground conditions, overhead obstructions, overhead power
lines, underground services Task
2 - Carry out load safety checks Weight. Size. Location. Lifting
Points. Heavy ended. Any loose items or moving parts. Task
3 - Liaise with Crane driver to assess the lifting operations
Agreed Signal Code. Inform Crane driver of safe working load
