Learning Objectives
Part 1. Safety Awareness Session Covering:

Legal requirements (Health and Safety at work act)
The systems of work that apply within the company and the consequences of failing to adhere to these.
Recognition of the extent of their own competence.
How and where to report problems with the use or transportation of ladders.
Safe working loads and work methods.
Common causes of accidents and how to avoid them.
Manual handling implications associated with use and movement of ladders

Part 2. Recognition of the defects in ladders.

Part 3. The use of fixed ladders as a means of access.
Securing ladders and the circumstances where an additional person should be stationed at the foot of the ladder.

Part 4.The dangers of using metal ladders near electrical systems.

Part 5. The reasons why wooden ladders should never be painted.

Part 6. How to store and transport ladders correctly.
